Green Manufacturing And Recycled Shutters In San Diego

We provide window treatments that are recyclable or contain some recycled content in them because we want to offer you sustainable shutter products. Not only are Polywood® shutters a fully recyclable shutter, but they are also comprised of up to 20% recycled Polywood content. No other shutter company in San Diego – or America – does that.

Sunburst supports green design, products, and buildings. We aim for reusing our materials whenever we can. We recycle water that cools down parts as they’re finished in the ovens. We reuse packaging materials. We reuse shutter pieces – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. Each year we recycle hundreds of tons of materials.

When we prepare our window treatments for transportation to your home for installation, we put reusable corner pieces on the louvers’ edges and use the least amount of cardboard to package the shutters.

Non-Toxic Paint Finish For Shutters

The patented paint finishes we adhere to your plantation shutters are environmentally safe – and are even lower than the accepted volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing method, none of our paints emit fumes. When we declare our paints aren’t toxic, we mean it.

Polywood Shutters do not emit dangerous gasses – so you and your family can relax and enjoy your window treatments.

The Only Shutter Recycling Program in San Diego, CA

If you ever want to change your window treatment styles, we offer a shutter recycling program in San Diego to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. You simply have to remove the shutters on your own, and call our store manager, Kimball, at 858-956-5822 to set up a pick-up. We will take your shutters and reuse some of their materials in future Polywood shutters. This is the case for Polywood shutters only—we don’t recycle other shutter brands.

With this program, there’s no cost to you for recycling Polywood shutters. And, together, we’re helping keep the environment green in San Diego.
