Shutter Options And Parts In San Diego

When purchasing plantation shutters in San Diego, there are many shutter options that you can choose from. Whether it’s picking the frame style that goes with your window just right or what form of tilt rod you want, our design professionals will provide you with the options for shutters in San Diego so you can match the shutters to your style.

Colors

Both Polywood plantation shutters and Ovation natural wood shutters are available in multiple colorspaints, and stains.

Louver Sizes

Plantation shutter louvers come in three sizes: 2.5”, 3.5”, and 4.5”. Although louver size is a matter of personal preference, we’ve seen over our years of experience that larger louvers allow you to let more light in to illuminate the room – and have a larger view to look out from.

If your fixtures and furniture are blocking a portion of your window, moving the shutter louvers lets in more light and more of the view of your neighborhood. In this case, larger louvers increase your view outside of your plantation shutters in San Diego!

Frame Styles

Using either a frame or hang strip, plantation shutters in San Diego can be mounted on a window. Our design specialists offer custom mounting, – and without a frame when needed. Here are some of the frame shutter styles we offer. The Craftsman frame is only offered for Polywood® shutters. Contact our a design expert for more options.

Tilt Rods

Our most requested tilt rod option is our traditional front mount tilt rod. This style of tilt rod is the one typically associated with plantation shutters, and is a large part of their elegant look. Because the tilt rod is on the front of the shutters, opening your shutters to let light in and completely closing them for more privacy is easy.

You can also choose our rear-mounted tilt rod, which is an easy and practical way to get the feel of a hidden tilt rod, but is less expensive than an internally mounted gear mechanism. There’s a thin metal strip on the back corner of each louver that orchestrates the movement of your plantation shutters.

Door Handle Cutout

French door with cutout for shutters

Shutters for doors in San Diego are elegant. But what about a door that has a handle that goes over the glass? Our experts build the shutters around your door handle. This way, your shutters look beautiful and are functional. And you get to save the door handle!

These stylish shutters give your doors a custom look while letting you maintain the unifying look of shutters throughout your room. While some cutouts are rounded, others are square. Regardless of what style you pick, our installation specialists show you how to customize your doors with shutter options in San Diego to match your home and style.
